Beautiful ukulele, made of the highest grade Koa and to specifications of a 1879 Kumalae instrument, hence the name. It completely and absolutely sounds as good as it looks. It is one of the most startlingly responsive soprano ukuleles that we have ever played - it is up there in terms of sound with the Hawaiian K brand instruments. The trick with soprano ukes is to make them lightweight and super rigid so that no vibrations from the strings are soaked up by unnecessary weight. The Peghed machine heads area thing of beauty as well. So lightweight and smooth to use, you can tune quickly and easily without all the hassle of vintage pegs. There is a clever 4:1 gearing mechanism hidden away on the inside which allows for the retention of the super cool vintage look whilst giving you the modern functionality of machine heads.
