aNueNue MBS32E Electro Acoustic Short Scale Bass Guitar in Gigbag

These days, aNueNue are doing a really good line of short scale steel string electro acoustic bass instruments. They are among the nicest I have played, and the best sounding acoustically and plugged in, that I have heard in the last few years.

This model has a solid koa top and laminate acacia back and sides. The top is the real engine behind the acoustic sound, and it works very well indeed - deep vibrations, and plenty of volume. If you wanted to be heard unplugged alongside an acoustic guitar, or 2-3 other unplugged ukulele players, this would do the job.

Equally, if you want to plug it in, and use the excellent pickup system to shape your sound all the way from woody thumping acoustic bass sound bright, crisp contemporary pop sounds, this will have you covered.

It comes with a really high quality gigbag, and a rosewood finger rest, which you can attach to your preferred location of you wish. I found it very comfortable to play in lots of different styles without it, but you have it if you want!

The strings are an aNueNue custom set, but other manufacturers like D'Addario offer short scale acoustic bass strings, so replacements should not be too hard to find.

Highly recommended. Pictures show actual instrument. Depending on the angle at which you view it, some parts of the koa can look darker than others - move your viewing angle, and the darker patches move, or transpose to an area which was light before. This is very normal with quartersawn and bookmatched Koa. The effect is know as Chatoyancy, a word derived from the French for cats eyes. An extra close up photo of shows the exact angle at which the sides are even with no differentiation. These holographic changes are all just part of the fun of koa!
