The cedar bird started life as a World of Ukes exclusive. Then, aNueNue made it a Ukulele Site exclusive... Now everyone can finally enjoy this wonderful addition to the Moonbird series. The 'cedar bird' is a combination of Western red cedar and East Indian rosewood. It's a cannon.... So, so loud but clear and mature sounding. If spruce is direct then cedar hits you in the feels like a deeper voiced cousin with life experience.

This listing is for the electro acoustic version, which is fitted with the aNueNue Air pickup, which has an active piezo pickup and condenser mic pickup. You can blend the output of the mic into the sound of the piezo (normally around 20-30%) to give the sound a lovely realistic depth.

Cool fact about the AnueNue Bird Ukuleles - They were designed by a superstar Japanese Luthier called Mitsuta Morihiko who spent more than a year tweaking the shape and bracing for the Birds working back and forth with James Hill, Kalei Gamiao and Kyas. He calls the unique central positioning of the soundhole and top brace the Mount Fuji-voice brace. Its subtle but the Bird' ukes have a unique body shape as well which you don't always spot because of the sheer cutaway design.
