B-stock Big Island EUL-ACA-N Long Neck Concert Electric Ukulele

Electric ukuleles are very of the moment! Lots are now available from Godin, Risa, IMUA, Pono and now Big Island have joined in. These ukes, made in China, are excellent value for money, being about half the price of comparably specced models from Pono and IMUA - but you still get the Fishman Pro passive undersaddle uke pickup, a nice padded gigbag, and beautiful looking cuts of wood. ​This model has a chambered body, like a lot of the electric ukes available today, which makes them nice and light and ideal for stage use. With only a simple volume control knob onboard, you would need to rely on your amp or preamp unit for your tone shaping.

But, the Fishman pickup makes a good sound which does sound authentically ukulele-ish, not at all electric guitar like. ​ Bear in mind that there is very little acoustic volume - enough for quiet late night personal practice - so you'll need a headphone amp or amplifier, and an instrument cable, to make noise!

This particular instrument pictured arrived with a raised patch on the side of the freboard (see pictures) which looks like a small repair done in the factory during manufacturing, which has been glossed over. It is hard to tell what the original issue might have been. It is only a cosmetic issue, as the neck and fretboard are structurally sound, and when a right hander is playing, it would not be felt. As a result we are reducing this one down from £359 to £320 as b-stock.
