B-stock Pono AT5-PC All Solid Acacia Pro-Classic Tenor ukulele with Hard Case

Special Price £800.00 £666.67 Regular Price £949.00
A truly deluxe Acacia instrument for the discerning pro player. We have sold Pono's slotted headstock version of this Ukulele for several years and its mellow sound and striking looks have always made it popular. The introduction of a model without a slotted headstock has both brought the price down significantly and afforded the player an opportunity to have a headstock with some pro Grover rotomatic tuners and the quicker function of a standard paddle style headstock. Not to mention the deluxe Abalone binding around the outside and sound hole paired up with the cream Ivoroid making a classic looking high end instrument.
This one developed a small crack in the gloss finish (NOT in the wood!) where we screwed in a strap button. This has been professionally repaired and although not invisible, it is a very solid and permanent repair to the gloss. It is smooth to the touch, and the dark bits you can see are just the wood grain underneath. So, because of this save over 15% on the original retail price! This is also one of the last that will come through with Abalone trimmings - this model will feature Turquoise in future.

About the Pono line: The “Pono” line is made by Ko’olau one of the oldest and most traditional Hawaiian ukulele manufacturers. Ko’olau’s goal throughout the years has been to provide the highest quality stringed instruments available with a high standard of craftsmanship. And besides methods of construction to optimize tone and volume, they stress the importance of cosmetic beauty. It is of interest to note that only the finest grades of quartersawn hardwoods, such as Acacia, Mahogany, Rosewood, and Ebony are selected for Pono instruments. However, only 20% pass the stringent requirements of density, grain patterns, flexibility, and cosmetic aesthetics. This is virtually unknown, especially in the Asian import market. We are proud of the fact that all of the Pono instruments are made of solid woods.
