B-stock Romero Creations GT Solid Mango Grand Tenor Ukulele in Gigbag #20025

The Romero Creations grand tenor ukulele finally here! It's easily been the most requested instrument this year with its new conventional shape.. Why so anticipated, you ask? Well it does something different and unique and in many respects is the ukulele the world has been asking for.

It has a thin modern style neck with a wider 38mm nut width but retains the compact Romero headstock which many find comfortable behind the hand when playing chords in the first position. It has an enlarged tenor ukulele body that much more closely resembles a baritone with a deep 7.8cm body depth.

Romero Creations like to describe these ukes as having a piano like sound and sustain and its hard to disagree. The bigger body really does create a deeper, richer sound without the higher frequencies and notes suffering or getting lost in the mix.

Many of the Romero Creation models like this one are made in Vietnam and the rather unusual setting for the manufacture punctuates the unique instruments they produce. There is nothing like a Romero Creations grand tenor or their fantastic tiny tenors. They are professional instruments made for players that needed more bass, more volume, and a wider fingerboard. I am truly sorry it took so long to get them - it is only now I know just what we were missing out on!

What's the difference between the two? The koa model has a little bit less bass and a little more or the bubbly undertones when you pick individual notes. The mango model is darker and more of a strummer's instrument. The correct answer is that you should buy both...

This instrument has had a repair to the corner of the bridge (see pics). It arrived with a hairline crack in the Ebony on the pictured corner which when I investigated, widened, and a splinter came away very cleanly. The splinter has been professionally and very nearly invisibly Epoxied back, so it is very solid and very hard. So, we are reducing it by 20% and selling it as B stock. So confident of the repair are we, that we will offer a 5 year warranty on this repair - not on the whole instrument, but if you develop any problems with this area at all in the next 5 years, you can have your money back, or a replacement. Can't say fairer than that!
