We're really impressed with this Big Island mango cutaway electro tenor ukulele. Mango is a very good choice of wood for tenor and baritone ukuleles, as the larger body size brings out the natural warmth in the wood. More akin to mahogany than to koa in its tonal response, it makes for a beautiful warm sound which can be deployed to great effect on strumming or picking styles.

The bone fixtures and fittings and the gloss finish help to put a little zing into the top end as well, and certainly help to elongate the sustain at the same time. You notice when playing this tenor uke that chords do take a while to die, even when played in positions up the neck. You can achieve great results when playing vigorously or gently in all positions.

It also helps that the wood is quite stunning on the eye! Mango is so variable in its grain structure. Pictures show actual tenor ukulele.
