We have missed doing our instore events throughout the pandemic so much... Half the reason we have such a lovely big showroom in Bournemouth is so that we can welcome you all in for workshops, performances and other shenanigans.

We have decided to combine the 3 for our first event of 2022, on Saturday October 15th 2022, between 10am-4pm we will be displaying and have the majority of the Flight Ukulele catalogue here in store, set up and ready to try with special prices on many of these instruments for those that visit us and purchase on the day.

Not only that, we also have TWO absolutely free workshops and performances lined up from at around 11.30am and 2.30pm by Sammy Turton

When we announced this event, Alex was due to teach a morning workshop at 11.30am. Sadly, he broke his wrist this week (28/9/22) and will no longer be able to lead the group for this workshop. Sammy T has graciously offered to step in and teach a similar workshop.

Alex began teaching workshops at UK/EU Ukulele festivals. On the 15th October at 11.30am, Alex will be teaching his 'Baby Steps' module from his fingerstyle Ukulele course for free instore followed by a short 20 minute performance before lunchtime. The workshop will be just under an hour long.

PLEASE NOTE: The Baby Steps Workshop is aimed at Beginners/Intermediate players, A Low G on your instrument is preferred but not essential to participate in the workshop.

4STRINGBOY - Sammy Turton - Alternative Chord/Melody Fun on the Ukulele

Sammy Turton is better known by his Instagram/Teaching name of 4stringboy. Based in Finland but originally from the UK - Sammy has found himself one of the faces of the Flight Fireball Ukulele with his popular free Fingerstyle Fursday Instagram challenges and accompanying Ebook series. Free lessons and the books are available from his website.

Sammy is also well known as the winner of Ukulele Sites Harmonics competition earlier this year having been chosen as the winner by Hawaiian based Uke masters - Corey Fujimoto, Andrew Kitakis and Kalei Gamaio.

We highly recommend checking out Sammys social medias for hundreds of free lessons and inspiring tid-bits about the ukulele. He really has been one to watch in recent years and we are delighted to have him here on his 'day off' from his UK tour with the various London Ukulele Projects going on around the UK that week.

At 2.30pm on Saturday October 15th, Sammy will be performing his workshop for Beginners/Intermediates about Alternative Chords and melody. This is a workshop he often teaches to his pupils and we are excited for him to show it off at Southern Ukulele Store. The workshop will be just under an hour and a very short performance will follow.
