Bette Midler Rights Ukulele Theft Wrong for Devastated Drag Queen

It may not have been the crime of the century, but the heady combination of Bette Midler, a stolen ukulele and a heartbroken drag queen called Lucy Lush has been simply too much for Paul Britton at the Manchester Evening News to pass up.

This is the terrible tale of one drag queen's love for Ms Midler gone horribly awry when a their snatched the plastic bag carrying the superfan's signed ukulele after a Bette Midler concert. Fortunately, Bette was sympathetic to Lucy Lush's sad plight and has invited the drag performer back to a free concert where she will personally present him with a new, signed instrument. We love a happy ending!

Ukulele: The Perfect Cure for a Mid-Life Crisis

We've always maintained that a ukulele is just plain good for whatever ails you, and this is the proof. Australian performer Jane Cameron came to the ukulele a little later in life, in the nick of time to save herself from a serious dose of mid-life crisis. This is her story, published on the SPRUKE website , which starts with picking up a ukulele and ends with travelling across Australia, forming a band and getting under way on an album. Inspiring stuff. You can find Jane's music here. Thanks to Love My Ukulele for sharing the story. Loved our posts this month? Think there's better stuff for us to cover?
