Flight Navigator All Solid Flamed Maple/Rosewood Electro Acoustic Baritone Ukulele #1
Flight have come on leaps and bounds in the last 5 years. The Mustang started it all, offering people an affordable professional instrument and they have continued to innovate and elevate what people expect from a mid-priced uke. The 4SB, Fireball and Comets are so popular here at SUS with customers visiting and choosing them over ukes that are sometimes 2-3 times the price... The real question when the Navigator was announced was whether it could truly offer something unique? Hasn't it all been done?
I was humbled by the first Navigator I saw. This traditional tobacco burst orange to black fade over a figured flamed Maple top looks so top-tier. The finish reminds me of the AnueNue Singer series whilst somehow managing to be a fraction of the price. The tobacco burst over the maple feels old and new at the same time. It's sound is so comforting, thick and mellow but the Rosewood back and sides really help the whole thing project.
This Ukulele sits at the head of the table of Flight production Ukuleles; putting its best foot forward and offering a unique sound in the grand scheme of things against the Comet, Fireballs and more whilst somehow being similarly priced. The wide nut and slimline slotted headstock are incredibly comfortable and if you need to be able to plug in and perform, this instrument has everything you could ever need.
