Kanile'a SUS-T KL Solid Lutz Spruce & Deluxe Hawaiian Koa Tenor Ukulele #26225 (SUS Exclusive)

Check out the Southern Ukulele Store exclusive, new for 2022, Kanile'a SUS-T KL tenor ukulele. This tenor uke is has a solid Lutz spruce top with deluxe Hawaiian koa back and sides. 

This ukulele is the first prototype for an exciting new chapter in the Kanile'a and Southern Ukulele Store relationship. We have designed and built Manu Hu's, Manakos and a range of very competitively priced SUS ukuleles that used Alaskan rainbow cedar and mahogany. With the Alaskan rainbow cedar now being impossible to source, we asked each other - what is next? What does every ukulele player want in 2022?

We wanted to retain the thing that made the original SUS series so special and with this German Lutz spruce top, Kanile'a have more than achieved that. Both this model and the 'EIL' prototype offer a professional level Hawaiian made ukulele, that sounds the part and looks the part.

The quality of this spruce top and the consistent nature of Kanile'as Hawaiian koa back and sides make for a traditional Hawaiian sounding ukulele but with just a bit of 'lift' to the sound. The big notes sound full, the brighter notes have a bit more of an edge. It's Hawaiian koa but... boosted.

We've unofficially named it the 'hāpai' which in Hawaii means 'to carry'. It feels like the spruce top helps the Hawaiian koa to reach its full potential. What a uke, what a company... Thank you Kanile'a for blessing us with this prototype.
