Klos ukes are designed with the great outdoors in mind. The bodies are impervious to temperature or humidity changes, being made of moulded carbon fibre. And the necks, although made of Mahogany, have stiffening rods in them to ensure that they stay good and true. All well and good, I hear you say, but how do they sound?

The short answer is, very good indeed! They are not quite in the Blackbird territory of complete body and neck resonance, but they are very close. If you want an ultimate travel ukulele for that Andean trek or Paris-Dakaar rally, without too much compromise on sound quality, one of these has to be on your shortlist.

In the hand, they feel excellent, lightweight and balanced, with a very familiar 35mm nut width. Playing one gives you a real sensation that you are playing the real deal - there is decent volume when required, with heavy strumming sounding clean and clear with an impressive bass response, whilst fingerpicking sounds nice and crisp, with single notes played up the neck having real presence.

KLOS carbon fiber is never post-processe. Their ukuleles are naturally beautiful without sanding, polishing or painting. The way you see them is the way they come out of the press. There will often be small marks, crease lines, or fiber distortions from this process, which are true hallmarks of a genuine carbon fiber ukulele.
