KoAloha KCR-10AC Rosette Series Solid Acacia Concert Ukulele #0518_no1 slight flaw

As part of a bid to use less endangered materials like Koa, Abalone and Rosewood in their instruments, KoAloha have devised the new Rosette series. These features all solid Asian Acacia bodies and CITES friendly adornments such as Ebony inlays and bridge. The use of these more environmentally friendly materials in no way reduces the KoAloha mojo; all the volume, pizzazz and clarity in the sound that you expect from KoAloha ukes is here in spades.

Acacia and Koa are in the same family - Koa is a tropical Acacia tree, effectively. Acacia tends to have a more yellowy tinge, whilst Koa can pop with purples, oranges and pinks, but on the ears the result is pretty much identical. There is a fullness to the bass, and a lovely bite in the mid range, which makes for a very good all round sound suitable to many different styles.

The label inside reads "Assembled in Hawaii" as opposed to "Made in Hawaii" because some of the parts are made in the Opio factory in Thailand. If you've seen an Opio, you will know that this is not a bad thing!

This one arrived with a slight flaw (see pic) which is purely cosmetic, and does not affect the performance of the instrument in any way at all, hence the reduction in price by 10%.
