Kumu SQ35A HPL-Hawaiian Koa Longneck Soprano Ukulele Gloss Finish

On my recent travels to Hawaii, I felt the brand Kumu calling to me... Street musicians, reputable music stores and local musicians were all singing the praises of the Leolani brand and its limited Kumu HPL (high pressure laminate) tenor and soprano ukuleles.

Made from high quality Hawaiian harvested laminate woods exported to a Chinese workshop; these ukuleles have a distinctive thickness in the hands and a full, chiming sound that is distinctive regardless of the size of the instrument in your hands. The tenors are perfect for those players that want a real handful of neck when they play and the long neck sopranos have a very familiar modern Hawaiian vibe to them when you play them.

Laminate ukuleles often get a little bit of bad press as people tend to naturally favour the long term benefits of solid wood but a good laminate ukulele will be as good on day 10000 as it was on day 1 and is less likely to succumb to the environmental effects of a cold winter or harsh humidity. That makes Kumu a perfect candidate for those who like to keep a ukulele in the boot of the car, in the camper or take one with them on holiday in a suitcase.

Whilst, here in the UK we don't currently see a wide range of the other Leolani instruments (many of them resemble Snail or Ortega Ukuleles); Kumu offer something that nothing else in the Southern Ukulele Store arsenal currently does and we promise you that they sound as good as they look!
