Millar SP-240W Solid Spruce/Acacia Concert Ukulele #4

We've got nothing but praise for the Millar's SP-240W all solid spruce/acacia concert ukulele. I was so impressed by this powerful little uke that I actually bought one for myself to fill the concert ukulele sized hole in my life. Having had Hawaiian and Japanese concerts in the past, I can confidently say that this Taiwanese made ukulele really holds its own.

This budding, family run workshop of builders are producing ukuleles that push the limits of what kind of quality you can expect to get at this price. The feel and looks of these instruments are reminiscent of Pono, Big Island and Imua ukuleles. They're a real step up from other ukes in this price category in both wood choice and attention to detail. Millar ukuleles are easily an affordable alternative to Rebels and Opios.

The SP-240W is an all solid spruce top/acacia back and sides concert with a passing resemblance to the early Kamaka herb-ohta models. The spruce works seamlessly with the acacia back and sides by producing warm, mellow and sweet tones but with a bit more bite and attack when you really dig in and play it hard. If you like playing concerts but wish they sounded a bit more like a tenor ukulele, then this is a great option for you.
