Millar TK-260W Solid Cypress/Rosewood Tenor Ukulele w/Slotted Headstock #2
We don't ever want to stop playing the new Millar ukulele range. This TK-260W all solid cypress/rosewood tenor ukulele has a slotted headstock and infinite playability. This range is surely here to stay and is making a real splash with uke lovers.
Millar ukuleles are built in Taiwan in their budding, family run workshop of builders. We're amazed to say that they're producing ukuleles that really push the limits of what kind of quality you can expect to get at this price. The feel and looks of these instruments are reminiscent of Pono, Big Island and Imua ukuleles. They're such a step up from what you expect in this price category for the woods chosen and attention to detail. This tenor ukulele is a worthy competitor to Rebels and Opios. Yellow Cypress is a Taiwanese sibling to the more common Cedar tonewood... Cypress has practically an identical tone to Cedar wood but a slightly wavier looking grain pattern. The jury is out on whether here in the west we should describe this wood as Cedar or Cypress so forgive us for using both terms in these listings.
The TK-260W brings the warm, responsive and seasoned sound of cypress (tonally similar to Cedar) to the ukulele whilst the rosewood adds some gravitas and volume to the overall sound. This tenor ukulele is a real treat for those with a fingerpicking style. It has a sensitive response to your touch and an almost classical guitar tonality. If you were to strum the sound is quick and clean off of the fingerboard with just a touch of bite and saturation. Plus, if you play in a group and want to hear yourself this uke does more to help you stand out at the forefront of the mix.
The slotted headstock is gorgeous with those antique open back machine heads and cream buttons. I don't know about you but I personally am a sucker for the rope binding and curly maple trim. It really stands out against the fiery colour palette top and the deep richer rosewood.

You may have noticed we rave about the Millar Ukuleles in our video because they offer something that really exceeds the playability and sound you would normally expect at this price. However, each one is made by an extremely small production team in Taiwan and small cosmetic imperfections around the body are almost inevitable. We always make sure to list the big ones but smaller ones or polishing marks in high gloss finish are an unavoidable side effect of getting something so special in other ways at this price.
