Ohana Custom USA DT-KOA HUMMINGBIRD - Premium Hawaiian Koa Tenor Ukulele w/Hard Case #190308p

Ohana are cooking these days with a Long Beach, Californian Custom shop that is quietly producing some of the best Ukuleles in the world.

We met head luthier Brad back in January and comissioned half a dozen ukuleles to be produced for us throughout 2024/2025. One of these Ukuleles is this absolutely phenomenal DT-PMT.

We noticed Ohana had some of the best Hawaiian Koa wood sets just waiting and desperate to be turned into beautiful instruments so we expanded on our previous inventory of Ohana Customs with this absolutely stunning 'Hummingbird' model. We'll talk about the motiffe in a moment but for now lets just all collectively ogle over that stunning Hawaiian Koa body.

The dealer series spec that Ohana USA offers is very catching with a unique shape to the headstock along with the simple rosette and abalone trim around the body. The Hummingbird fingerboard inlay is something else. You can really see Brad Kahabka's past in fine art come into play here; the detail is incredibly and looking at it is worth the price of admission alone!

This particular Ukulele has a feeling about it... it makes you want to say it plays itself. The reinforcement Ohana use in the neck create a very present bass response. The uke vibrates warmly against you and sings with the depth of a Baritone despite it's Tenor size. It would be very hard to get a sound out of this ukulele that wouldn't put a smile on your face!

This Ukulele also comes with the deluxe LR Baggs Five-0 Pickup which is just as good as it gets for Ukulele pickups... it's the same pickup as a MiSi but with a battery powered preamp and volume control.
