Ohana TK45 Solid Curly Redwood/Indian Rosewood Limited Edition Tenor Ukulele
This limited edition offering from Ohana is a real treat. Ohana have always delivered interesting wood combinations and classy but understated embellishments with their instruments, and the TK45 is beautifully representative of this. It is not dissimilar to the TK42 sporting the same maple binding with rope pattern purfling, rosewood fingerboard and bridge and solid rosewood back & sides. How it differs however, and what makes this one the limited edition model is the curly redwood top.
The TK42 was somewhat similar to Cedar in its sound, and the TK45 redwood version does hold some of the same characteristics. It’s bold, rich and full but with a soft attack, less forward and obvious than spruce, and more of the mysterious stranger in the corner, it captures the attention of those willing to observe rather than just see. Visually it’s unlike anything else out there with beautifully contrasting grain in brave wave formations, it’s a looker and a tone hunters dream, with limited availability (hence “limited edition”… obviously… sorry folks) the TK45 is one to check out even if your quiver is “full”, whatever that means.
