Risa 20th Anniversary Concert Uke Solid Electric Stick Ukulele Black in gigbag

To celebrate their 20th anniversary, Risa have released their electric stick ukuleles (alternatively known as cricket bat ukuleles) in stealth satin black in all sizes for the first time.

The soprano has been released in black before now in very limited numbers, but it is now rereleased alongside a concert and tenor size for the first time. So, if you are a massive Risa fan, and wanted one in each size in the same matching colour, then for the first time you could have them!

The trick that these Risa ukuleles pull off beautifully is being very small, well made and indestructible, so they really are the ultimate "stick them in your suitcase and don't worry about it" type of travel uke. They have a passive undersaddle pickup installed which you can plug into an outboard headphone preamp for travel or quiet practice, or into a preamp or amplifier for stage use. As an emergency backup uke which takes up next to no space, these are hard to beat.

But more than that, they are extremely enjoyable to play just as a ukulele, once you have adjusted to the lack of a headstock, which for the first few minutes does cause you to think a bit!

Lots of our customers use these as their daily players. They feel comfortable and familiar in the hard owing to the 35mm width at the zero fret, the intonation is very decent, and the geared planetary tuners do a great job of keeping the tuning nicely nailed on. And in a very nice touch, the strap for the gigbag doubles as the strap for the uke, minimising the bits you have to carry around with you.
