Baton Rouge UR71T Solid Redwood top Spalted Maple Back and Sides Tenor Ukulele #1
This tenor ukulele is something new and funky from Baton Rouge. The UR71T is the most affordable ukulele I remember ever having in stock to feature a solid Australian Redwood top. Redwood is a very similar tonewood to cedar and it's no surprise just how loud and vibrant this ukulele sounds. The back is slightly arched too, which really helps to focus and project the sound nicely. That little bit of extra tension in the back works wonders!
The back and sides are a fantastic contrast to the reddy brown top - a very light spalted maple laminate. There is nothing not to like about this tenor ukulele. If you want something that looks a bit less traditional and has it's own tonal personality then you would be hard pushed to find something else that ticks that box at this price quite so well.
