Kala KA-ASFM-T-C Solid Flamed Maple Cutaway Tenor Ukulele
Here we have a fabulous new model from Kala, who over the last few years have introduced a huge number of new models in a huge variety of different woods.
This Kala tenor ukulele is completely unique in that it is made completely of solid flamed maple. Traditionally, Kala have used maple on the back and sides, rarely on the top. However, the use of it here on this new model brings a different and new sound unlike any past or present model.
It is a very sweet, mellow sounding uke but by no means quiet... maple should be used more often because it packs just enough of a punch to be heard over most other instruments without compromising on the tone. This would take a low G very well indeed.
This is a great alternative to something like spruce which can be a little bit too direct for some styles of music, but this uke has a sweetness in the sound that is going to make you want to keep playing. Quite unique in the Kala range.
