We often receive one of a kind ukuleles here at SUS, however the Ziegenspeck “Harp E” electric harp ukulele is truly a unique instrument. Developed and hand built to an astonishing standard by Tom Ziegenspeck, the Harp E is the combination of a solid body tenor ukulele with four additional bass strings which can be tuned to the key or basic notes of the song.

Tom is a one man show, producing beautiful instruments out of his workshop in Leipzig Germany. This Harp E is built from mahogany throughout and is fitted with a Ziegenspeck under-saddle stereo pick-up system. This weird and truly wonderful uke can be perfectly balanced between the bass and tenor components using the stereo cable provided allowing the player to create the sound of an ensemble by themselves.

Coated with a satin matt nitro-cellulose finish and fitted with Der Jung machine heads it as much a work of art as it is an instrument and in the right hands sounds just as stunning as it looks. It’s a-typical in all the right ways, hand built and, as I have already said, totally unique. Shipped with a certificate of authenticity, standard cable and stereo cable in a custom fitted hard case, take the opportunity to own something really special.
