Fanner PeeWee Solid Body Electric Bass Ukulele - Dark Green Burst

The rise of solid body Ukulele and Mini Bass has been sudden and extremely exciting... Flight and Kala have established these desgins as viable and modern alternatives to the Electric Bass Guitar and have captured the heart of thousands of players and Fanner are established as well with an audience worldwide that seemingly can't recommend them enough. The PeeWee Bass is a more bespoke, custom shop option made in Cape Town, South Africa by the Fanner brothers. The PeeWee has the popular 23'' scale length but with a more compact body width and less body contours making it comfortable to play sat down.

Fanner are very proud that most parts are produced in house for these ukuleles with the exception of the pickups and machine heads.

This Ukulele was built to order for Southern Ukulele Store - the body is hand shaped, sanded and sprayed in house. This method of everything being done by a single luthier or team of brothers really add to the vibe of the whole thing. Something previously unavailable in the Ukulele world. The pickups are hand scatter wound, wax potted and soaked in hot bees wax p90s with alnico 5 magnets. The pickup itself is less 'subby' than the Kala and has more personality and natural growl to it... if you only play root notes on the bass and need to be in the background; I would suggest the Kala and Flight are more conventional options. If however, you play across the neck and with a lot of expression; the Fanner is the first Bass our staff here at SUS have played and found as responsive as many active bass guitars. It's more like a Music Man stringray than a Fender... If you know, you know.

This PeeWee Bass is an absolute machine. So fun to play, so easy to play well. Our video demonstration hopefully offers a good experience to those who can't come and play one for themselves.

Listing shows actual instrument you will receive. The finish on these ukuleles is about 9/10 - Part of what makes these so affordable for a single luthier built instrument is the more rustic elements of the finish. Perfection is lovely but the bespoke singular build of this instrument at such a great price does mean the instrument has a more lived in look and feel.
