USED Kanile'a K-1 T NAT All Solid Hawaiian Koa Tenor Ukulele w/Pod Case (2017)
Sadly, Preowned Ukuleles are only available to UK customers at this time.
The Ukulele has evolved dramatically in just 7 years with the most clear evolution happening over in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii at Kanile'a... Since the company started in 1998, Joe Souza (and now his sons) have reshaped, redesigned and breathed new leases of life into Ukulele design. As players took the instrument more seriously around the world; Kanile'a have been there one step ahead the whole time.
That makes an instrument like this such a fun piece of recent history for the instrument we all love... A pre 2019 example of a Kanile'a Tenor. This 2017 made model uses a lot of more traditional build techniques that Kanile'a made their name on; for example, pre 2019 Kanile'a Ukuleles used the earliest version of the TRU-R bracing and finishes like a natural, traditional look were the norm as recently as 7 years ago. A Kanile'a K-1 ukulele would regularly be natural and traditional looking like this with an all Hawaiian Koa top, back and sides. The faceplate is Koa and the ukulele features an indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge (discontinued in 2019). The fret dots are Hawaiian sand and the vibe of this ukulele is off the charts!
If you love Hawaiian Ukuleles and have longed to get a played in Kanile'a instrument this is a treat. If you own a modern Kanile'a and want a tangible glimpse into the progress this company has made in under a decade then this will excite you!
Condition is 8/10. There are some marks around the body and a few little scuffs at the headstock where the original owner used a strap. None of this patina should stop you from falling in love. Wabu-Sabi is the perfect time to describe this Ukulele... the imperfections add to the instrument; it's tiny battle scars are part of what make it special. It's been loved, it's been played and that is never a bad thing.
