Slight B-stock Ko'olau T-1 Tenor Ukulele Solid Koa Satin in case #220220

We absolutely love the Ko'olau T-1 tenor ukulele model. It's always a good day when beautiful Hawaiian made instruments arrive here. And today is a very good day indeed!

Like the other K brands, this Ko'olau tenor has a definite magic all its very own. The sound is luscious and complex - the satin finish leaves the sound very open and uncompressed, with lots of sustain and impressive volume. All the way up the neck it has a consistency and presence that is only surpassed by some of the very best instruments that pass through our hands. Truly, a stunning and extremely capable instrument!

Experience of high quality precision made tenor ukuleles tells me that the sound is likely to open up nicely with playing over the next few years, so if it sounds this nice now, it'll sound utterly wonderful down the line.

Pheasant wood is a new one on me. I am so glad that there are still lovely surprises like this that pop up every now and then. It looks like a tight grained, variegated rosewood, or perhaps a bit like the engineered rosewood effect composite woods that are being used by some brands these days. As you can see, it looks understated, but with stunning detail and character under close inspection.

This one is reduced by £100, as it was previously purchased by a customer who wanted it fitted with a strap button, but who then decided to return it. It has been cleaned up and disinfected thoroughly, and fitted with a new set of Ko'olau mahana strings.
