Snail BHC-6C Solid Cedar Top/Ebony Concert Ukulele w/gigbag
Wow, wow, wow!
Snail have done it again. Despite having one of the strangest ukulele manufacturer names we have ever come across, time and time again they release new instruments that sound not just good but world class and punch well beyond their weight for the price.
A good Snail ukulele can compete with the big boys and up to now, the only thing missing was a choice of which solid woods you could choose from. The SUC-M3 and SUT-M3 have grown to become the most popular solid wood instruments under £500 available here at SUS. Snail's decision to introduce solid top cedar and spruce models had us all eager to open the box.
This is a stunning Snail concert ukulele with solid cedar top and laminated figured ebony back and sides. It has a slotted headstock, unbranded but very sturdy and accurate machine heads. It's got a clean and clinical looking gloss finish and a crisp, clear and dynamic sound.
The instrument is very light in your hands like all Snails and basic chords ring out in just the most lovely way. Those debating between the spruce and cedar models: the cedar is just a tad mellower to my ear and a little bit bassier.
10/10 - we can't recommend them enough!
