The 3rd SUS Takeover day is coming on Feb 15th 2025!

The event has 4 performances and 3 workshops for just £40 and will take place in the Absolute Music Cafe, the same building as Southern Ukulele Store. Beginning at 12pm and finishing around 6:30pm. An open mic will take place immediately after for anybody who wants to show off a couple of songs.

Difficulty Level? Each of the Teachers are tailoring the workshop to what we call 'advanced beginners'. You don't need to be a virtuoso player but a basic understanding of the earliest stage of Ukulele will definitely help you get the most out of each workshop. We take regular breaks throughout the day with the closest place to get food being 'The Range Cafe' about a 2 minute walk away... A lot of people bring a packed lunch.

Christopher is one of the true modern pioneers of Soprano Ukulele with a very distinctive array of styles. Musically, Christopher will take you on a tour of where the Ukulele came from to the present day and we are delighted to welcome him back.

As one of the most visible and prominent Ukulele teachers in the world today; Chris will no doubt inspire all of you with a workshop fit to make beginners better and still challenge intermediate players.

Tyler James Austenfeld

We loved Tyler and his blues workshop so much back in October that we have already asked him to come back and teach you all again. Tyler was one of the first viral Ukulele players of the 2010's with a huge online following that has seen him travel the world. Having settled for now in London; we want to make the most of the opportunity to have him back teaching and performing on the SUS stage.
Tyler is fun, vibrant, energetic and a fantastic ukulele player with so much to give! We first met Tyler when he helped load in all of our ukuleles at the UFOGB in 2024, he then stayed and spent 8 hours selling Flight Ukuleles with us. A lovely man with a great playing style. We later learned Tyler and his Ten Thumbs Pro project is one of the most subscribed and watched ukulele channels on the planet and he has just passed us by all these years. Originally from the US but currently based in London, we can't wait to get him down to Bournemouth to play and teach all of you.

The Southern Ukulele Store Friday Band

You asked for it, we are making it a reality for the first time - Our popular 'Friday Jams' have travelled the world a million times over via social media. Every Friday, we take 30 minutes out of our working day to arrange and perform a song. Initially started as a one off feel good moment on social media; a year and a bit later we have had visitors from all over the world asking to join in, asking to see us live and for the first time; on Febuary 15th we will make it happen.

the SUS Friday band will close out the event with a performance spanning the most popular of our Friday Jams live before hosting an open mic to close the evening.
