The Rebel Double Creme Soprano Solid Mango with gigbag #1

The Rebel solid mango soprano double creme ukulele has the same beautiful, sweet sound with some really smooth highs and a nice responsive bass when you hit the open C strings as the creme brulee but with a more traditional thickness body. The extra depth makes this soprano ukulele even more concert-like than it's sibling.

These ukuleles sound and feel brilliant. The Rebel Ukuleles are very modern feeling and looking in a way that reminds us of the AnueNue's. They feature traditional, thinner body stylings but with a nice slick feeling neck. We shouldn't be surprised how good these ukes are given that Rebel are the manufacturers of KoAloha's Opio line.

The first time I opened the gigbag to try one of these, I actually found myself playing open chords like C and F and just listening for several seconds as the note rang out to its conclusion (I did this with the Creme Brulee as well, similary excellent). I couldn't believe the refined sound from this new uke! It successfully handles a confident strum without any sibillant undertones. In many ways it actually sounds much more like a concert and if you close your eyes or look away when it is being played; you could be forgiven for thinking that you are hearing koa, such is the bubbliness of this little champion.

Much like KoAloha, these Rebel ukes go a long way in establishing that mango is an authentic tonewood destined to play a big role in the future of ukulele manufacturing. Certainly, right now you would be hard pressed to find something that could outclass The Rebel or KoAloha Opio Ukuleles at the same price. The mango they are using is gorgeous!

Phil and I fell madly in love with Rebel at the 2019 NAMM show and we were delighted to be able to share the Rebel experience with our colleagues and customers when opening the delivery for the first time. There isn't a bad or mediocre ukulele in the range - just well made ukes you will want to play every time you open the bag. 2022 Rebel models benefit from a new, thinner gloss which in our opinion has increased the overall resonance of these ukuleles.

Sure, the bag is a bit flamboyant and won't be to everyone's taste - but at least you'll always know where you put your Rebel!
