USED 1920's Vintage Kamaka Special Mahogany Soprano w/hard case
Please note that this USED Kamaka Soprano ukulele is available for purchase by UK customers only. It is a part of a special collection from The Uke Room - Vintage Uke Store and can be viewed upon request but will not be on display in our showroom.
Another wonderful piece of ukulele history. This is an early 1920s Kamaka all solid koa soprano. This is in the early Portuguese/Hawaiian style with the small figure 8 shape, high soundhole and fingerboard flush to the body. It had a new bridge fitted by Kamaka in the 1990s and three cracks (pictured above) glued which are all stable. The friction pegs are not original but they work so we can forgive that small alteration for sure.
Amazingly for a 100 year old instrument it plays beautifully with a nice low action and no buzzing. Strung up with soprano Flurocarbons, it sounds great with a big loud open tone that you only get from vintage instruments.
An heirloom piece of amazing history, but equally a brilliant uke to play for many more years to come shipped in a lovely old pineapple shape hard case.
