USED Kala Elite Solid Mahogany Salt and Pepper Doghair Tenor Ukulele with MiSi pickup

Here we have a very rare Kala Elite Tenor in solid Mahogany, with the stunning Salt and Pepper High Gloss Doghair finish. This was owned by one of our lovely regulars, who played it and loved it for a number of years before realising that the Baritone is a much better fit for them. This uke is in decent used condition, but it has a scratch on the back, some playwear to the top, and a small scuff on the headstock amongst other small marks. It is a solid 8/10 cosmetically, with a lot of life left in it, but please note that this is a used item, and this list of cosmetic issues in not exhaustive. The last one of these that we sold new went for £999, and the MiSi was a £179 upgrade. This Salt and Pepper finish was discontinued, as it was too difficult and time consuming, making this quite a rare thing indeed.

We have restrung it with Worth CT strings paired with a Fremont Squeakless Low G, and it plays and sounds absolutely wonderful, with that creamy richness that only Mahogany can produce. We retroffited the Misi pickup for the original customer, and it is still sounding as good as new. 

This Ukulele is also useful for players with bigger hands as it has Kala's quite unique fatter neck profile with the 38mm nut width.

Each comes in a black, Kala USA hard case with a plush interior.
