This ukulele along with a sister model were purchased by us recently, as part of an exciting collection of soprano ukuleles. This Ken Timms soprano is in fantastic condition with limited signs of play. I cannot decipher if this is Cuban or Honduran mahogany but Tim has long been known for making world class soprano ukuleles inspired by the golden era of Martin Ukuleles (1920-1950).

He rose to fame within the ukulele world when featured by Barry Maz at gotaukulele and nearly 10 years on, the quality of these instruments is unquestionable, as is the modest price for something completely hand made by a single luthier.

The scarcity of these ukuleles has also been a hot topic over the years as it was very hard to actually order a Ken Timms ukulele and instead they would sell very quickly either in ukulele online forums or on eBay. Ken handed the reigns of his ukulele building business over to his son at the tail end of 2023. This soprano ukulele looks to have been made in 2022. It has a gorgeous, warm, traditional ukulele sound and feel but slightly wider nut width and thicker neck depth makes for a wonderful playing experience.
