USED Millar SP-240W Solid Spruce/Acacia Concert Ukulele

Alex here; It's no secret that I love Millars and for me this model and this particular instrument was where it all started...

This SP-240W came to me from Matt at World of Ukes as a kind of 'You have to see this...' kind of thing and within a few moments of holding it and playing it I purchased it because regardless of price, brand loyalty or pre conceived expectations - I think this is up there with the very best Concert Ukuleles I have played!

Whoever gets this is getting a stunner of an instrument. Condition is about 9/10 with a small crease in the bottom by the strap button that was there from manufacturing and does not affect the instrument in any way.

You are going to love the new Millar SP-240W all solid spruce/acacia concert ukulele. I actually purchased one of these for myself to fill the gaping hole in my life where a concert ukulele needed to be. It holds its own against many of the concerts I have owned in the past that were Hawaiian or Japanese made.

This budding, family run workshop of builders in Taiwan are producing ukuleles that push the limits of what kind of quality you can expect to get at this price. The feel and looks of these instruments are reminiscent of Pono, Big Island and Imua ukuleles. Both the wood chosen and clean attention to detail is a noticeable step or two up from ukuleles in the price category. They sit very comfortably as an affordable alternative to the Rebels and Opios of this world.

The SP-240W is an all solid spruce top/acacia back and sides concert with a passing resemblance to the early Kamaka herb-ohta models. The spruce works seamlessly with the acacia back and sides by producing warm, mellow and sweet tones but with a bit more bite and attack when you really dig in and play it hard. If you like playing concert ukuleles but wish they sounded a bit more like a tenor then this is a great option for you.
