USED Ono Solid Cedar Top/Hawaiian Koa Back & Sides Tenor Ukulele w/ABS Case
Please note that this USED Ono Tenor Ukulele is available for purchase by UK Customers only.
Hailing from Ashland Oregon, David Ingalls has been building lovely ukuleles our of his workshop since for a fair old while now. Originally a builder of sailboats his visit to a luthier’s shop back in 2010 sent him down a fresh path, taking his experience and ethos of crafting aesthetically pleasing but functional and well machined parts resulting in quite lovely and playable instruments.
This used Ono (yes Ono not Pono) came to us a couple of months ago, but with the Christmas rush it slipped through my (Adam) net and didn’t get a listing. I would say it’s in 8/10 condition with a few signs of having been played and with one small ding in the top (photographed above).
We tried to get in contact with David to find out the exact wood types used, but to no avail, so have done a bit of analysing and concluded that the top is almost certainly cedar, with really beautiful figured Hawaiian Koa back and sides. Front walnut binding and rosette with a rosewood fingerboard and really neat tie through bridge. There’s a sweet personal sound-hole masterfully machined in the side and two strap buttons fitted, capped off with Gotoh Planetary tuners. If you want something special, hand built with care and attention, from a builder you’re unlikely to see a uke from again, certainly unlikely in the UK, then jump on this Ono Tenor served neatly up in a TGI ABS hard case.
