USED Pete Howlett Hawaiian Koa Tenor Boat Paddle Ukulele #59313 (2013)

£599.00 £599.00

Please note that this second hand Pete Howlett tenor ukulele is for sale to UK based customers only.

The boat paddle design made famous by Pete Howlett before being later adapted and continued by Kevin Mulcock. It is very underrated in the grand scheme of ukulele innovation and progression. These tenor ukuleles have a completely unique voicing which is dirtier, richer than a conventional shaped luthier built uke. The focus of the sound created by the paddle shaped body is unlike anything else we have heard before or since.

Everyone loves the look and sound of koa and this uke is no exception, definitely one of the more sought after models from Pete's prolific area of innovation in the mid 2010's.

Pete designed the boat paddle originally as a teaching instrument for building so despite its modest somewhat 'take it or leave it' shape the finish is world class and the ukulele sounds just sublime.

This tenor boat paddle model has an Indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge and has both a Corian nut and saddle, wooden strap button and some high end black button geared tuners.
